U.S. Army SSG Carlo Montell Robinson was born June 18, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona.

SSG Robinson graduated from Hope High School in Hope, Arkansas in 1993. As a student, he was the quiet type and enjoyed playing sports. A year after graduation he joined the National Guard and a year after that he went active duty.

After being in the military for 13 years, SSG Robinson was on his first overseas deployment when he was killed. He was assigned to the 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Polk, Louisiana. He died at the age of 33 in Bagram, Afghanistan of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Kabul.

SSG Robinson was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

This dedicated and courageous soldier leaves behind one daughter and one son in Hope, Arkansas, and a second daughter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
