Emmanuel De La Cruz Calayan was born on March 9, 1971 and joined His Creator on November 26, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. With loved ones at his side, Emmanuel set himself free to fly into the light of Serenity.

He had many nicknames, including E-man, E-boy, Noel, Doc, but he was happy to be called by everyone simply as Manny. His children called him Daddy and his wife called him Bea. Emmanuel served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years and fought proudly in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was born in Manila,Philippines but spent most of his childhood in Oxnard,CA.

While attending Channel Islands High School, he met and fell in love with his soul mate, Veronica, who he married and had three wonderful boys with. The Navy took them on a journey to Whidbey Island, WA, Fallon, NV, Yokosuka, Japan, and finally to Bothell, WA where they settled down and bought their first home.

During his entire life Emmanuel cared for those he met, and fought hard for what he thought was right and true. Ever so loving and tender to those close to him, he was always giving, attentive and kind. He seemed to bring a presence of comfort whenever he was around and was always the life of the party. No one cared for his family more than Emmanuel and he always put his family and his relationship with God above anything else.

Emmanuel was also a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan. He could probably give a competitive eater a run for his money. And he enjoyed relaxing and taking vacations with his family and friends. He was also passionate about the two material loves of his life, his Acura Integra and Honda CBR motorcycle.

Emmanuel is survived by his wife, Veronica, and their three children, Christian, Emmanuel Jr., and Joshua. He is also survived by his parents, Alejandro and Zenaida Calayan of Oxnard, CA;brothers, Alejandro Jr., Michael, and Arnold, all from Oxnard,CA. Emmanuel was preceded in death by his older sister, Aleni.
